Grappling Master - Strength and Conditioning For Wrestling!

Strength and conditioning for wrestlers has got to be structured to be dynamic in nature. You see wrestling is a sport that involves a lot of movement and intense physical exertion. You don't need me to tell you this, however I am shocked at how many wrestlers that know this are lacking this very element within the scope of their strength programs.

I don't care if you are looking for strength and conditioning at the amateur, collegiate, or professional level you must implement the same principles. Your physical training should always involve lifts and movements that integrate multi-joint exercises. These drills should also promote muscle development, strength, and power. Lifts and exercises that fall under this category involve things such as kettlebell training, olympic weight lifting, and plyometric drills. These are all great methods for building your body for speed, power, and explosiveness. The more of this that you do the more you can expect to handle your competition.

By engaging in a smartly planned strength and conditioning program you not only better yourself for a successful performance, but you also toughen your body by making it less susceptible to injury. This is especially important when looking at the sport of wrestling and grappling. By engaging in the lifts and movements that I mentioned earlier you promote the natural development of your body's human growth hormone (HGH) which is essential in the improvement of all athletic skills. This will rapidly enhance your physical development and speed up the progress of your wrestling performance.

If you haven't already started to implement a well designed strength and conditioning plan in your wrestling program then you are only hurting yourself. Don't let the competition beat you up. Get a head start on them today by engaging in kettlebell lifting, olympic weight lifting, and plyometric drills. Feel free to learn more by accessing the rest of my articles on the subject for free.
